Tamagotchi
In an alternate universe
Build a single self-contained HTML file (under 500 KB, no external requests) using three.js, bundled and tree-shaken inline, with fonts subset and embedded as base64. SCENE An original voxel duckling named "Pip", built from soft-edged (beveled) cubes, chunky resolution (0.5 unit voxels). Pearl, clear-coated white body, slightly darker folded wings, polished chrome bill and feet, glossy black eyes. Per-cube ambient occlusion (enclosed cubes darker) and a cool sky-tinted fresnel rim light. Pip floats like a bath duck in a gentle open ocean: one large plane displaced by 4–5 summed travelling sine waves in the vertex shader, with analytic normals. Use the same wave math in JS so Pip bobs and tilts with the surface. Pale crests, a soft contact shade and a wobbling foam line where Pip meets the water, and expanding ripple rings on landing and every few seconds when idle. Sky: gradient dome (muted blue overhead to pale haze at the horizon) with a low sun behind Pip from the starting view. The water reflects a painted equirectangular version of the same sky, so the sun lays a glitter path. Distance fog matches the horizon so the sea has no visible edge. Towering cumulus clouds ringed around the horizon, built from instanced spheres with flat bases, bright tops and grey undersides. Twinkling four-point star sparkles drift around Pip, with a couple riding on its head and bill as catchlights. ATMOSPHERE Slow, Matrix-style vertical streams of Japanese text falling through the sky in a pixel Japanese font (DotGothic16): ピップ, あひる, そよかぜ, くも, ひかり, ゆめ. Mostly small and crisp in the distance, plus a few large, blurred, faster "near" streams that read as closer to the camera. Film finish: light grain, soft vignette, faint warm and cool light leaks in opposite corners. ACES tone mapping. Restrained, art-studio and slightly Y2K in feel: pearl, chrome, sparkle. No hard cast shadows. UI No panels or text. A bottom-centred care bar with four original 8-bit icons (9×9 pixel grids) in stepped-pixel-cornered pearl buttons, labelled in Silkscreen: Feed (a seed drops, Pip pecks it, it floats then vanishes), Play (spinning hop), Clean (sparkle burst), Sleep (toggle: scene dims, eyes close, pixel Z's rise; tap again or tap Pip to wake). Tapping the scene (not dragging) makes Pip hop. CAMERA Orbit and zoom only, no panning. Start at the max zoom-out distance, slow auto-rotate, tilt limited so the camera never dips
